Metro Fire Update 🚌

The investigation into the Sun Metro Transit Operations Center explosion and fire is ongoing, and El Paso Fire Chief Jonathan Killings said it may take weeks to determine the cause. The fire, which erupted Tuesday, injured eight people, with two critically injured employees—German Garcia and Ruben Ibarra—flown to a Phoenix burn center.

Sun Metro will continue operating on a limited schedule as officials assess transit readiness. Fire crews described the scene as intense, with a roof and rear wall collapse occurring minutes after arrival. Investigators are still sifting through the rubble. We’ll keep you updated as we learn more.
