$54 Million For Key Infrastructure 🏛️
El Paso County Commissioners are considering issuing $54 million in certificates of obligation to fund key infrastructure projects. These funds would go toward expanding water and sewer services, flood control, road safety improvements, and upgrades to the Youth Services Center.
The goal is to invest in essential services without increasing taxes, as the County has managed its finances well in previous years. A final decision on the debt issuance is expected at the May 5th meeting.
Robot Workers At El Paso Children’s Hospital 🤖
Meet Rosey and Astro, the new robot helpers at El Paso Children's Hospital! These friendly robots assist by delivering medication, freeing up nurses for more patient care. Created by Diligent Robotics, Rosey and Astro navigate the hospital, operate elevators, and are being tested in the pharmacy. Soon, they’ll expand their duties across the hospital!

Miss Sun City USA Crowned 👸
The first-ever Miss Sun City USA Pageant crowned Danielle Kaufman as Miss Sun City USA and Aspen Armendariz as Miss Sun City Teen USA on March 15th. Held at the Hotel Paso Del Norte, the winners will represent El Paso at the Miss Texas USA pageant in Houston on May 2-4.
Downtown Redevelopment Incentives Reviewed 🏢
El Paso County is considering additional incentives to support the redevelopment of the long-vacant Dry Goods Building in downtown El Paso. The $42 million project, led by developer Robert Palacios, aims to create 120 residential units with retail space on the ground floor.
The city has already granted nearly $7 million in incentives. County approval could help accelerate the project’s timeline, bringing new housing and economic growth to downtown while revitalizing a key part of the area.

Locos Blow Massive Lead ⚽
El Paso Locomotives had a strong start, leading 4-1 against Phoenix Rising, but Phoenix fought back, scoring three goals in the last 20 minutes to tie the match 4-4. The Locos earned their second draw in a row to start the season. Next, they face Harpos FC on March 19th in the U.S. Open Cup.
