Iconic Mexican Cinema Posters On Display ⭐
Are you a fan of Mexican cinema? Head over to the Consulate General of Mexico in El Paso for the Carteles del Cine Mexicano exhibition, running until February 27th from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.
This free exhibition showcases the incredible movie posters by Josep Renau, created during the Golden Age of Mexican Cinema (1940-1958). Renau used airbrush techniques to create visually stunning posters for classics like Ahí está el detalle and El Ceniciento. It's a great way to experience how art and cinema came together to capture hearts and minds.

Local News
Metro Bus Fire UPDATE 🚍
Sun Metro is working to restore full bus services after the fire at its East El Paso Transit Operations Center, which injured seven employees and led to one death. Starting February 23, Sun Metro will expand services, adding more routes, extending hours, and increasing frequency.
The modified schedule remains in place until February 22. Temporary maintenance operations are now at the Union Depot. The El Paso Fire Department is still investigating the fire, working with demolition crews to stabilize the building before a full assessment. They urge patience and responsible sharing of information as the investigation continues.
Upgrades Being Made To The Border Wall 🧱
Crews are working on upgrades to the border wall in El Paso, including the installation of C-wire and new "advanced technology." Border Patrol confirmed these improvements, saying they aim to enhance agent safety, deter illegal crossings, and improve security for the communities in the area.
Need Help With Taxes? 💁
UTEP is teaming up with the Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program for the tenth year to offer free tax preparation to the Borderland community. This service is available to people with an annual income below $65,000, and it's especially helpful for those who can't use standard services.
Students gain hands-on experience, and in 2023, the program helped file over 13,000 returns, saving families millions in fees. The service is available Fridays from 1-4 p.m. at UTEP’s Sun Bowl Stadium. No appointment needed, just walk in! For more info, visit freetaxeselpaso.org.
