Local News
Johnson’s First State Of The City Adress 🗣️
In his first State of the City address, El Paso Mayor Renard Johnson highlighted key issues and goals, including improving the city’s infrastructure by securing funding for road repairs. He also discussed combating negative national narratives impacting economic development and vowed to showcase El Paso’s strengths to attract new businesses.
Johnson expressed his commitment to meeting with companies interested in relocating to the city, emphasizing the community’s workforce and potential. This supports some of the cities recent moves such as selling parts of the city and trying to secure funding for special projects. I’m excited to see what happens, especially to the downtown which needs some love.
Want To Get Rid Of Your Junk? 🗑️
Do you have some old junk around your house you want to get rid of? On March 8th from 6 A.M. to 5 P.M. bring your trash and up to 6 passenger tires to 241 Old Hueco Tanks Rd (no commercial tires) to dispose of them without any charge. It’s a city initiative to help clean up the area. Check out the post below for more details.
Reason For Recent Flight Diversion ✈️
The other day we reported on a Sun Country Airlines flight headed to Mazatlán that was diverted to El Paso after a threatening note was found on board. Well it turns out, the note which said, “You Are All Going to Die, Help Me,” was later determined to be a hoax by two young children. No charges will be filed, and passengers were safely accommodated. Just remember, the airlines are never somewhere to joke like that. It’s serious business.
