El Paso Raises Minimum Wage For Employees ⬆️

The City of El Paso has raised its minimum wage for employees, now at $15.75 per hour, up from $13.61. This change, effective February 23, was made to recognize the hard work of city staff. Employees earning below the new minimum received a raise, with some seeing up to $0.50 more per hour.

The City is also addressing pay structure issues, ensuring fair compensation for experience and tenure. This move is part of the broader Workforce Focus initiative, which aims to improve recruitment, retention, and job satisfaction while maintaining financial stability and offering strong employee benefits.

Fire At Eastlake High School 🔥

A fire broke out at Eastlake High School's culinary arts building on Tuesday, but it was quickly put out. No one was inside, and thankfully, there were no injuries. The cause of the fire is still being looked into. Everything is safe now, and the building is being investigated.

FBI Warns El Paso Of A New Scam ⚠️

FBI El Paso is warning about a new scam where people get text messages claiming they owe unpaid toll fees, or face late charges reported to the DMV. But the Texas DMV doesn’t collect toll fees, and El Paso doesn’t charge tolls!

Scammers are trying to steal personal info by tricking people into clicking links. The FBI advises not to click any links and to report any suspicious messages. If you think you’ve fallen for the scam, contact your bank and report it at ic3.gov. Stay safe and watch out for these annoying scams!
