Water Main Burst 💦
El Paso Water sprang into action after a water main burst on Medano’s 7600 block yesterday night. Crews are busy checking if neighbors are dry, but so far it seems like everything is under control, there’s just a ton of water!
El Paso City Council Approves Sunset Amphitheater Expansion ✅
The El Paso City Council has approved an expansion of the Sunset Amphitheater, now covering 20 acres to boost its event capacity. This unanimous decision, made in a session where City Reps. Josh Acevedo and Deanna Maldonado-Rocha were absent, paves the way for a new venue design promising year-round events. This move, part of a broader agreement with VENU, enhances the amphitheater's potential as a major entertainment hub in Northeast El Paso.
El Paso Animal Services Combats Abuse 🐶
El Paso Animal Services launched their annual campaign against cruelty with a clear message: stopping animal abuse helps prevent broader violence. They’re educating locals to spot and report cruelty, linking it to other forms of violence.
You can join them in wearing orange and lighting orange porch lights to raise awareness. If you see or suspect abuse, you can report issues via 311 or call 911 for urgent situations.
Eagle Scout Improves Smeltertown Cemetery
Gael Gomez, an Eagle Scout from Troop 191, transformed the historic Smeltertown Cemetery. He leveled the ground, widened the paths, and added benches to make it more accessible, especially for the elderly. Inspired by the cemetery's history, his project enhances its role as a landmark and community space.
