Around Town

Dave’s Hot Chicken Coming To The Westside 🔥

El Paso’s Westside will welcome its first Dave’s Hot Chicken restaurant on Friday, Jan. 24, at 7729 Paseo del Norte Blvd.

Known for its hot chicken sliders, tenders, and bites, the chain offers spice levels ranging from "No Spice" to the daring "Reaper," which requires a waiver.

Sides include kale slaw, mac & cheese, and crispy fries, along with milkshakes and slushes to cool down.

Dave’s Hot Chicken, which started in 2017, has over 1,000 locations globally and plans to open 80 more this year. Hours are 11 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday–Thursday, and 11 a.m. to midnight on weekends.

EPISD Late Start ⏰

El Paso ISD will implement a 2-hour delayed start on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, due to inclement weather and low wind chills.

Students will begin two hours later, with breakfast available upon arrival. Morning bus routes will follow the delay, resuming regular schedules in the afternoon.

Pre-K 3 morning sessions are canceled, while afternoon sessions proceed as usual. Campus and Central Office staff will follow regular schedules, and extended day programs will operate as normal.

The district is monitoring weather conditions closely and will share updates as needed. Stay connected to district channels for the latest information.
