  • A Sink Hole Reappears

  • Local Play For The Kids

  • Tons Of Live Music This Weekend

Let’s get to it.

Around Town

Help Needed To Catch Park Vandals 👮‍♀️

Vandals hit Shawver Park, and now police are on the hunt. Between Jan. 5 and 8, 47 light posts along the walking trail were damaged or destroyed, racking up $7,500 in damage at the park near Loop 375.

El Paso Crime Stoppers is asking for tips! If you know anything, call 915-566-8477 or submit a tip online at cselpaso.org.

Tipsters stay anonymous and could score a cash reward if their info leads to an arrest. Let’s keep our parks safe!

A Sink Hole Reappears 🕳️

Sinkholes are back in Far East El Paso, and residents aren’t happy. Over the past three years, at least four sinkholes have appeared near Mission Ridge Blvd and Pleasant, leaving some without water for hours.

The latest opened on Jan. 30, just months after another was repaired. The previous sinkhole, caused by a water main break in November, severely damaged the northbound lanes.

Residents worry about safety and vehicle damage, fearing they’ll fall right into one. Officials from Paseo del Este MUD and the county are investigating. More updates to come!

UTEP Comes Up Short 🏀

UTEP men’s basketball battled hard but fell short in a 78-74 loss to Western Kentucky in a tightly contested Conference USA matchup.

The game saw nine ties and 10 lead changes, with UTEP briefly taking control with a 10-0 run in the second half.

However, Western Kentucky’s Khristian Lander (28 points) and Don McHenry (20 points) made clutch shots down the stretch to secure the win.

UTEP forced 18 turnovers and grabbed 14 steals but couldn’t overcome WKU’s 55.6% shooting. The Miners now stand at 15-6 overall and 5-3 in conference play, tied for second place.
